TITLE: Making Schools Safer and More Inclusive for Autistic Students
Schools are inherently hostile places for many autistic students, and it takes effort and knowledge to make them safer and more inclusive. But it doesn’t have to be difficult – in fact, many necessary changes are quick-fixes, cheap and easy to implement, so long as you know what you’re doing. In this lecture, autistic advocate and author Pete Wharmby will identify these adjustments and explain why they are so needed, and what a huge benefit they can bring.
Pete is an autistic speaker, writer, tutor and parent, who is working to improve autism acceptance in society by sharing insights and experiences of autism to the widest possible audience.
The lecture will take place on Monday,20th March 2022, at 18:00 GMT.
