TITLE: Adaptation of a disclosure decision-making programme for autistic adults

Emeline’s talk will provide an overview of her PhD project, including:

1) A systematic review she conducted on autistic people’s experiences of stigma and coping strategies;

2) A consultation survey she conducted with the autism community on whether stigma-related support is needed and what it should ‘look’ like;

3) The adaptation of a disclosure decision-making programme for autistic adults based on the above research evidence and autistic input.

Then, Emeline will share her findings from an initial evaluation of how feasible and acceptable this programme was, inviting discussion and feedback.

Emeline is a PhD student at CRAE, supervised by Laura Crane and Katrina Scior. Emeline is passionate about conducting research that is participatory in nature and practically beneficial to the autistic community. Two autistic collaborators, Kana Umagami and Eric Heath, were involved in the development and delivery of the programme in her PhD project.

This webinar will take place on Thursday 1st June 2023 at 4pm, BST.
