Stevie joined CRAE in 2025 as a PhD student under the supervision of Mel Romualdez and Meena Khatwa.
She brings broad interests in addressing employment inequalities and promoting knowledge democracy.
Prior to joining CRAE, Stevie completed her MSc in Social Research Methods at UCL’s Social Research Institute (SRI). For her dissertation, Stevie collaborated with the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) and a lived-experience advisory group, to explore what good work looks like for autistic women. Her mixed-methods PhD will explore autistic identity, wellbeing and employment outcomes. Stevie is committed to participatory and intersectional approaches in her research, through which she aims to contribute to an understanding of the breadth of autistic experience at work.
Stevie’s professional background is in Human Resources, where she has worked across different industries supporting individual and organisational development. She also brings experience working in SEND educational settings, which has further informed her research interests. Stevie currently works in the employability sector, supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced barriers to employment.
